Perfusion is the whole game
Shock: Failure of Perfusion
Shock is inadequate tissue perfusion and oxygen delivery relative to metabolic demand.
Blood pressure = cardiac output x systemic vascular resistance. Treating shock means fixing whichever of preload, pump, or vascular tone has failed. Lactate and MAP track the response.
MAP target
Aim for MAP >= 65 mm Hg in most shock. MAP = [SBP + 2(DBP)] / 3.
